This is a vintage giant bean bag that was created long before the other commercial versions came out. It is made by a company called Mag-Bags that used to be in Scituate, MA. It was originally made in the early 1970's. Our family calls this bag Clair and is perfect for napping, watching TV, or just snuggling in on a cold winter's night. This giant bag is filled with foam, not polystyrene like other beanbags. This means it is both heavier and can be formed into different shapes rather than a round blob. In the configuration pictured (nest mode) the bean bag is approximately 3 feet high by 4 feet wide and 3 feet deep, but can be reconfigured to be low and flat and suitable for more people to sit on. The cover can be removed (with some difficulty) for washing. The bag also comes with a pillow we call Clairette, perfect for propping up your head after you've nestled into Clair. The pillow is approximately 44" x 36". The cover can also be removed for washing. There is some wear on the fabric as shown in the photo. We love this piece of furniture and our kids do too, as you can throw them into Clair from great height and they just disappear into the the foam nest. But unfortunately we are moving out of the country and can't take Clair with us on the international move, so hopefully you can help Clair find a new home. This comes from a non-smoking but cat friendly home.
